Installation

Getting MechvibesDX up and running is quick and easy. Choose your platform and follow the installation steps.

Windows

  1. Download the latest .exe installer from the download page
  2. Run the installer and follow the setup wizard
  3. Launch MechvibesDX from your desktop or start menu
  4. Updates are installed automatically and SHA-256 verified

macOS (experimental)

  1. Download the .dmg file (Apple Silicon) from the download page
  2. Open the .dmg file and drag MechvibesDX to Applications
  3. Right-click the app and choose Open to bypass Gatekeeper (not notarized)
  4. Grant microphone/accessibility access if prompted for input capture

Linux

  1. Download the .deb or AppImage from the download page
  2. .deb (Debian/Ubuntu): install with sudo dpkg -i mechvibes-dx_*.deb
  3. AppImage (any distro): make it executable with chmod +x mechvibes-dx-*.AppImage then run it
  4. Add your user to the input group so key events are captured: sudo usermod -a -G input $USER, then log out and back in

First Setup

When you first launch MechvibesDX, you'll be greeted with the setup wizard that helps you configure your initial preferences.

  • Choose your preferred keyboard layout
  • Select a default sound pack
  • Configure volume and audio output device
  • Set up hotkeys for quick access (Ctrl+Alt+M to mute)

Customize MechvibesDX to match your workflow with these essential settings.

Start with a low volume setting and gradually increase it to find your comfortable level.
